About Us
Beanas Hand Pies
To spread a bit of joy and love during a very difficult time I started making apple fried pies and taking them to my neighbors, family, and friends. As a result, I received calls from people wanting to purchase my fried pies; several local restaurants offered to sell my fried pies and put them on their menu.
We specialize in comfort foods that make taste buds happy; our specialty is southern fried pies which are unique to the Pacific Northwest. Our mission is to bring joy and happiness to our community.
We support the local economy through the wholesale of our products to restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and through the retail of our products at local farmer’s markets, pop-up events, direct consumers.
Our goal is to provide employment to seniors needing to supplement their income.

How It All Began
retired from Bellevue Community College. My mother and grandmother were born and raised in rural
Okolona, Arkansas on a farm. My mother taught me to preserve fruits and vegetables during the
harvest season and to make southern fry pies. My grandmother taught me to make 7-Up cakes in a
woodburning oven.
Beana’s Hand Pies and Bakery started in 2020 during the COVID shutdown out of random acts of
kindness. I noticed my friends and neighbors were anxious, angry, and scared. I wanted to spread love
and happiness to those in my community and social sphere. During this time our apple tree was
overloaded with apples like never before. I had so many apples I tried giving them away.
Then, my brother reminded of the most delicious apple fried pies our mother made. So, I started making Apple
Fried Pies and taking them to my friends and neighbors to spread God’s love and happiness. Those who
received the pies were delighted and I started getting request from people wanting to buy my pies.
